After extensive traveling and teaching in underserved communities, we recognized that education can solve many of our problems.
For this reason, we launched a nonprofit dedicated to building and providing scalable solutions for underserved populations at home and abroad.
Education is a human right. Educated humans will help secure civilization and evolution. Without education, there is no civilization.
In 2018, SAT/CAT-type tests were conducted on 470,000 fifteen-year-old students worldwide. The tests' outcomes placed China as number 1, followed by Korea, Finland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, New Zealand, Japan Australia, and the Netherlands. American students ranked 38 in math, 24 in science, and 23 in reading comprehension. The last five countries were Zambia at 198, DR Congo at 200, Andorra at 201, South Sudan at 202, and Somalia ranked 203 out of the 203 tested countries.
For context, China's educational budget in 2024 is $570 million and 291 million students are enrolled in schools. The US education budget is $291 billion with 50.4 million students enrolled in school.
- One in six adults on the planet cannot read or write.
- About 900 million people worldwide, with 99 percent living in developing countries, remain illiterate; these are just estimates.
- Over 120 million children between six and eleven are not in school. Moreover, out of those children who go to school before they complete five years of primary education, one in four drops out.
- Data and research show that adults who do not complete at least six years of primary education remain non-numerate and functionally illiterate. Furthermore, in developing countries, the education provided lacks the standards required by the new economies.
The Education Project aims to play a role in changing this reality.
Education is the most potent instrument humans possess to reduce poverty and drive sustainable growth.
Our vision is a world based on every person having access to education, and as such, we are involved in projects to make this happen. So please get involved.
Education for all! Provide education access and solutions to underserved populations in our country and abroad.
To reach at least 25 million people in need of education access in our country by 2027 and 100 million globally by 2035.
While the challenges are daunting and many resources and volunteers are needed to tackle the problem, strengthening basic education systems is only the first step. The strategy is to get stakeholders committed to working to overhaul their education systems. Moreover, because the world is increasingly experiencing population movements, we are committed to spearheading concerted efforts to set up cross-border accreditation systems, not only for degrees but for real-life competencies and skills.
Twenty years ago, at a conference in Thailand, participating countries decried the slow progress and lack of focus of governments on education at the most basic levels.
